Mooncakes

The Mid-Autumn or Mooncake Festival falls on the 15th day of the Chinese eighth month and is celebrated to signify the end of the harvest season. As it is associated with paper lanterns, it is also called the Lantern Festival.

My association's AGM is coming up soon. Thus my committee and I were busy deciding what sorts of food to provide during the event. After Wednesday's meeting, we were quite happy with our list of food to get and 4 of us headed to Box Hill to purchase the groceries. One of the main food was Mooncakes as the theme of the AGM is Moonlight Festival. The mooncakes were quite reasonable priced and we bought about 11 boxes! Yeaaa, we'll be stuffing the students with good mooncakes! *lols* But, it must be good. I'm sure our president made a wise decision on the best mooncakes displayed. We also bought a lot of tidbits such as wasabi peas, ground nuts, jelly and packets of drinks. Sounds like CNY, huh? Heeeheee... I think we spent quite a lot for the things needed and quite happy we got them all there and then.

Before going back to Churchill, we stopped by an Indian restaurant for dinner. It was quite expensive at first, but we decided to share our dinner among 4. We paid for 2 head only *wink wink* POWER OF SEDUCTION. The waiter who took our order was a nice man. He understood that we were students and the food was pretty pricey. He was also kind to fill in "extra" potion for every dishes. Heeyy, he has a nice smile! That's the spirit! Yes, we had our scrumpcious dinner and then drove back to uni after. We were all tired but glad this trip has gotten us what we want. So, we don't have to drive all the way down to city at the very last minute.
